CO: Following you for some time now, I’ve witnessed your aesthetic adapt and form to your current offering. Although consistent, your work seems to always be changing through color, medium, and overall approach. What drove you to utilize this specific artwork for your mirror ?
LG: What drove me to utilize this specific work for the mirror was emphasizing on the ideas of familiarity and discovery. The term "Along The Way" comes from an original narrative and on going body of work that the Team and I developed in 2023 that focuses on the concept of rediscovering the things that you discover along the way and in life in general. What you surround and remind yourself with that continues to inspire, motivate and drives you to fuel your inner potential to live out every single day and moments within your personal journey.
CO: With countless accomplishments and an evolving artistic presence, the world views you as a successful artist. How do you view yourself when you look into a mirror ?
LG: I view myself as the same person that I was 5, 10, 15+ years ago. Born and blessed into the world with loving family and friends whom continue to keep my feet grounded and appreciative of life and it's moments whether big or small. I'm a big believer in destiny and I believe that when I look into the mirror, it's all been a culmination of my experiences in life that is a combo of both personal and practice. I always say that we're all in this journey together.
CO: You’ve been fortunate to mold your own world with special offerings for others to enjoy. From Prints to Apparel to so many other special objects, what excites you about this release ?
LG: What excites me most about this release is that it's the original work seen through such a unique and new lens that we haven't offered before. The idea of form and function and how the work has continuously developed to align with this specific medium and execution. Timing has allowed us to broaden the conversation and with this specific piece, I'm humbled that we can continue to try new things to amplify our approach as we grow through the practice.
CO: I’m sure you get approached all the time with projects and ideas from outside parties. What made you confident in your decision to work with Cut Once Studio ?
LG: The decision was honestly an easy one, because for starters we get to work and collaborate with great artists and friends like Josh and his Team. Being able to work with peers that continue to inspire you is the best form of collaboration in my opinion. It allows the best ideas and flow of work to go so naturally. And secondly, the pride in quality and craftsmanship to ensure we put the best work out for those to participate and enjoy. Every level of detail and labor of the love that Cutonce continues to stand by aligns with important principals that the Team and I stand by each and everyday in the studio and in life itself.
